Transmission Company Victoria (TCV) is undertaking field survey activities across the VNI West project area.

These existing conditions surveys are important in building our understanding of environmental considerations for the project, such as: physical, biological, heritage, cultural, social, health, safety and economic matters.

Studies began in October 2023 and include a range of technical assessments including desktop research of existing environmental databases, non-invasive field assessments, site walkovers and photography as well as remediated works such as geotechnical borehole drilling to determine ground conditions.

Survey activities take place on both public and private land:

Public land field survey activities are planned in consultation with the relevant local authorities, including permitting, where required.

Private land field survey activities are undertaken with the consent of landholders through their Land Access Agreement, including necessary notifications and biosecurity requirements.

TCV does not anticipate major disruptions to local traffic while field investigations are underway; however, appropriate traffic management resources will be in use at each site where required.
